This painting is inspired by our songlines, the ancient pathways that hold the stories of creation, connection and belonging. Songlines are more than lines on country; they are living maps carried through stories, songs and ceremony. They guide us across the land, teaching us how to move, how to listen and how to care for the places that care for us.

In this artwork, the flowing pathways represent the journeys our ancestors travelled, following the songs that shaped the land and the law. Every curve and intersection speaks to a moment of learning, a story shared and a responsibility passed down through generations.

The circular forms symbolise the sacred places along these pathways, meeting points, resting sites, waterholes, places where knowledge was given and held. These shapes honour the spirit of country, reminding us that every part of the land has a story and a purpose.

This piece is a visual reminder that songlines still live within us. They continue to guide our steps, connect us to our old people and anchor us to the story of who we are. Through this painting, I honour the strength, wisdom and continuity of our culture, a culture that sings across country, across time and through each of us today.
