"Water holes" by Kenita.lee
This painting, titled "Water holes," is a heartfelt representation of the vital water sources that sustain life and culture across our lands. For countless generations, waterholes have been more than just places to drink; they are sacred sites, meeting points, and sources of profound spiritual connection.
Through the rhythmic, concentric circles, I aim to depict the gentle ripples and deep currents of these essential waterholes. Each circle tells a story – a journey, a gathering, a memory held within the ancient waters. The vibrant blues and greens evoke the life-giving nature of these places, while the white patterns symbolize the purity and enduring spirit they hold.
